Enabling Adblock Plus on Facebook now blocks Facebook games

This is a recent issue that's come up just in the last couple of weeks or so (today being November 10th, 2012). I used to have Adblock Plus on all the time, no problem, and it blocked all the ads on Facebook. The Facebook games I play worked just fine as well. Now, the games I play (Castleville and Farmville 2) refuse to load until I disable Adblock Plus entirely. I tried turning on and off both the "Easy List" and "Fanboy" subscriptions, to no avail. Even just having Adblock running with no subscriptions, the games still refuse to load.

Will this be something I'm just going to have to live with, or will Adblock be able to tweak things so it works on Facebook again? If this issue gets resolved, I will definitely donate money to the cause; I hadn't realized just how many ads there are now, nor how much they slow down my browser, until now that I can't use Adblock anymore!!

I'm sorry, I should have provided some technical information. I use Google Chrome, and my computer runs Windows 7 Home x64.

Also, I am not encountering this issue on Firefox, so it looks like it's a Chrome only issue.

I cannot reproduce the issue with Castleville (it loads fine), but Farmville 2 won't load even with Adblock Plus disabled, which means it's a Zinga-issue at least for me.

Can you reproduce the problem consistently (i.e. do the apps manage to load every time ABP is disabled)?

Can you also check if your are running the latest version of Chrome (23.0.1271.64 m) and ABP (1.3.1)?

Yes, I can reproduce the issue consistently; however, I do not run into the same issue when I have just Adblock enabled (not sure whether the two just have similar names, or whether AB is a precursor to ABP). Oddly enough, though, I do not have the same problem on a laptop I have, running the same operating system, also using Chrome. This may or may not be related, but I noticed that on the laptop, the right sidebar does not load when ABP is enabled, but otherwise it seems to be working just as effectively as ABP was on my computer before the issue started.

I did check my versions of Chrome and ADP, and re-installed Chrome after I discovered that I was running a beta version of the next version of Chrome. Un-installing and re-installing it didn't fix matters, and neither did installing the latest version of ABP.

It's possible that there's some odd something that's unique to just my desktop that's causing this issue. After discovering that AB doesn't cause the same issue that ABP is, I've opted to have both installed, and just disable ABP on Facebook. I appreciate your response!

On a side note: "Adblock Plus for Chrome" and "AdBlock", despite their similar names, are completely different extensions, and this forum only deals with Adblock Plus.

Glad you found a workaround, but be careful: having both Adblock Plus and AdBlock installed may cause some interference between these 2 extensions.

Ok I'm not a real techie but this adblock is great except for the fact that it blocks all pictures and photos on facebook.

I've look at the filter but there is so much stuff on there that doesn't resemble a website so I'm at a loss as to what to do. Probably something really simple but then it usually is.
