Try going into ABP's 'options' and uncheck "Check banner links'.

See if that takes care of it.

Do you mean:

Code: Select all

http://dw.com.com/
That filter is fine, you just need to uncheck "Check banner links' -option, like Rick said.
If you use EasyList, then that is recommended setting.

I suppose I could always change that filter to:

Code: Select all

http://dw.com.com/$~link
... I think that would work fine no matter what the "check banner links" setting was. Try that and see if that takes care of it without allowing the ads.

Even if I add http://dw.com.com/$~link, I still hav to remove http://dw.com.com or check banner links as you were saying.
Could you maybe add on $~link to http://dw.com.com in your subscription list online.
Then people wouldnt hav 2 change banner links.
Also 1, thanx very much for fast replies, and 2, what does checking or not checking banner links do.

There was this forum topic before it was turned off.

I keep it off, because i only did get false positives if it was on, and also recommended EasyList setting is off.

i think id have 2 agree with rick about not checking banner links.
false positives are a much worse thing than having 2 specify a few specific images or other ads to block.
im concerned enough to wonder if i should hav any subscription at all.
mayb it would be better to make a list for ourselves so that we could ensure no false positives.
im sure youre list is fairly accurate though rick so im happy to use it at the moment.
thanx evrybody for the help also

It is your option to make a list for yourself but that would NEVER insure no false-positives. You never know you have one until you run into one.

Anyways, you're welcome, Brendan.

i was thinking of only adding pictures or other ads individualy but i suppose u would hav to use wildcards on whole sites etc and there u cud never guarantee no false positives.
yeah ur right i just didnt think about it.
well ill definitely use ur list rick, thanx
