Ad Block Turns Green On Yahoo Mail

I have been using Firefox and Adblock for a few years and have never had any problems.

Last night I went to Yahoo Mail and started to see banners and ads. I clicked on the ADP icon and it said that it was active but disabled on this page. It was also green on this page.

I uninstalled and then reinstalled it. I had been using filter set G.This time I installed Easy List. I am having the same response from AdBlock Plus.

I looked in the list and didn't many filters related to Yahoo.

Please advise.

Thanks :?:

I have the same problem with yahoo mail recently. The cause seems to be the Easy List subscription decided to whitelist mail.yahoo.com (see whitelist section at the end of the subscription).

Which in turn I am here to ask, why mail.yahoo.com is whitelisted along with some of the other whitelist entries?

EasyList has:

That whitelists yahoo, if you don't like it, then disable it:

And here is topic why it's whitelisted:

Some of those sites do not work without whitelisting, like Foxnews videos.

That mail whitelist string is now removed until that mail bug can be sorted out. Update the easylist now.

Too many complaints about ads showing up (I don't think it does this in the mail beta at all) ... and I can't recreate the problem on the regular mail here because no matter what I do, everything works fine with full filtering, even if I embed a link for an ad in the message requested from a known blocked item.

... and the item is actually visible in the message.

This can be a good sign, that users do care about ads.

I think that goes without saying these days, sheepy. :)
