This can't be helped right now as we received a report that hiding the grey bar also interferes with the themes you receive as reward for successfully participating in some games the site offers.

If you do not use any of the additional themes you can get rid of the otherwise useless grey bar by adding the filter neopets.com###ban to your custom filter list.
