can't get Adblock to appear in right click menu

A friend has a right click menu that contains "Block images from..." and Adblock image... and Adblock Link...

Mine does not, though AdblockPlus appears under Tools in the dropdown menu and I don't get ads when I got to most sites, so I know it's installed.

However, when I'm in Flickr, say, and want to block an icon, I cannot do so, although I thought I had configured Adblock Plus to block it.

So my issues are:
1. No Adblock features in right click menu
2. Adblock isn't blocking certain specified icons in Flickr.

Adblock v 2.0.0.2
Mac OS 10.4.8.

"Block images from" is a built-in feature of the browser, not one of Adblock Plus. Adblock Plus actually even hides it to avoid confusion - unless you already used it to block images from some sites.

As to not being able to block icons on Flickr - that's a question for Rick, author of the EasyList subscription. Rick, are you whitelisting something on Flickr?

No, no whitelisting there at all Wladimir. As a matter of fact, I had created an account there and have images on it .... everything seems to be working fine. The context menu works for me.

As for whose filters I'm using, I don't know. I'm a newbie to AdblockPlus and added* a bunch of URLs from a list prepared by a Flickr user to block images such as especially the BIG ones that appear on this Flickr page of mine:

*I added them to Advertisement filters section in the AdblockPlus Preferences drop-down window. Did I do that incorrectly?

Yes, it overrides any filters. And it prevents you from blocking something matching a whitelisting rule - it won't work anyway. So if you added something like "@@flickr.com" to your list (I have seen people advising this all the time) then you cannot block anything on Flickr.

Yep, flickr.com and mozilla.org are the only two items on the exception list. That might explain the problem! Is there any way I can continue to participate in Flickr and still be able to block images in comments that I don't want to see?

Oops. I apparently have done just that. Is there a way I can still do my thing on Flickr (post, view photos, comment, etc.) if I remove it from the whitelist? Would that simple step then allow me to continue using Flickr while being able to block particular images?

Remove the "flickr.com" exception rule.

I really don't know why it's in there to begin with. You can't block anything on a site that you already have whitelisted.

Well, why do you whitelist all of Flickr in the first place? Do you filters block something otherwise that they should not? Then you can either make the filters more specific or add specific exception rules. But whitelisting the whole site is a bad solution.

Sure ... that is the way it is supposed to work. Everything works unless you block it. Did you block something that doesn't work now? If you did, it was obviously a 'bad' blocking string and THAT one should be removed too.
