Global TV Player

A family member is migrating to watching the above linked program from TV to online and wondered if the 30 second ads can be blocked. The ads are shorter than with the regular broadcast version but are still annoying.

Great project.
TIA.

I am not able to play the video due to my location but you can try it for me.

Add this filter

Code: Select all

||doubleclick.net^$object_subrequest
into Adblock Plus and test a few videos if they work fine without the ads.

If it breaks the videos, please remove the first filter and add this one

Code: Select all

||doubleclick.net^*;sz=$object_subrequest
and test some videos again.

Please tell me which one of these filters worked. Thanks.

Neither worked. Tried them individually and then combined. Also re-started FF to verify.

These also did not work. There is an ad at the start of the program and between the seven segments.

The global tv player is now stalling at the ad segments (so I can only watch the first 7min of any given episode). This has only been happening for about a week or so, and I love that the ads are generally blocked, but the stalling is really unfortuante.

The video ads (which used to be blocked!) are no longer being blocked. I did a report on a website: https://reports.adblockplus.org/2113ea1 ... f35f97d4cd

you have a few custom rules there, what happens if you remove/disable them?

I haven't changed those in a long time, so I don't think they're the issue (they were there when the ads were being blocked, a few weeks ago) but I have disabled them (which confirmed that they didn't change anything) and submitted another report here: https://reports.adblockplus.org/1a6af00 ... 5146e3f760
