I was thinking that alongside with add-ons or extensions, AdBlock could also make a standalone (independent) application that works in the background, affecting on all the browsers and clients that work online. Sometimes I switch browsers a lot, that's how I got this idea.
If you know AdMuncher, you can get a hint of what I'm writing about. But AM easily breaks websites that aren't ads (for example, blocking all images which name is "banner", blocks some messaging scripts etc). It also doesn't have site specific custom filters. I think that if AdBlock takes this road and uses the filters it currently has, it would make a fine competitor for AM indeed, and I would download the app for sure.
