I've been using Firefox and Adblock Plus for sometime now and have been loving it.
Recently been turned on to Chrome, and I'm beginning to prefer that as my default browser, but their adblock solutions just don't cut it.
My question is, how come when I use Ad Thwart with the Adblock Plus filters (Easylist and Fanboy) the browsing experience is not identical?
In Firefox, Adblock Plus blocks all ESPN.com video ads, but in Chrome with the same filter list subscriptions applied, does not.
Just curious...
Re: Just curious...
Thing is, Chrome doesn't make blocking ads exactly easy. In Firefox an extension can register to be asked every time before the browser loads something. Chrome doesn't have a comparable mechanism and ad blockers for Chrome have to resort to various hacks which work far less reliably.
Re: Just curious...
Doesn't that mean, I cannot block google-analytics.com? With new Chrome 8 and new Adblock I didn't find a rule to block this site
Re: Just curious...
That isn't exactly the right place to ask that question, most people here have no experience with Chrome extensions
