Hello there, I have a newbie question:
Is there anyway to group multiple custom filters, since I use multiple filters for one site.
That way all the filters are organised and will not interfere with other websites and so i can quickly toggle a group of filters instead of the filters individually?
group my custom filters
Re: group my custom filters
I visited the forum to find out about this as well. As far as I can tell, there's no way to group custom filters right now.
It would be a very helpful feature for people who create and manage their own filters. Mine is very short and blocks all content I'm not interested in. I've been tweaking it for years now, though, and there are some legacy filters that don't appear to be hit very often. If I could place filters in subgroups or fill out a description field when creating them, I'd be able to keep track of why each filter was created. That way I'd be able to periodically eliminate legacy filters or enable them per session.

Re: group my custom filters
There is currently no way to create folders, although if you want to categorise your filters you can use comments to separate the sections.
Re: group my custom filters
Thanks for your reply, Michael. How can I add comments to filters? Are they added in a column on the preferences page that you can use to sort your filters?
Re: group my custom filters
An exclamation mark at the beginning of a line designates a comment.
Code: Select all
! Comment
Adblock Plus Documentation wrote: Comments
Any rule that starts with an exclamation mark is considered a comment. It will still show up in the filter list but in grey instead of black. Adblock Plus will ignore this rule for actual blocking so it is safe to write there whatever you want. You can place a comment rule above a real filter to describe what it is doing. Or you can put a comment on top of your filter list stating your authorship (most filter list authors do that).
Re: group my custom filters
Oh, thanks. Sounds like a cumbersome way of sorting filters, I have to say.
