Find useless filters

Post by RedNed »

Good day

This is my first posting, so bear with me.

I used the web tool 'Find useless filters' on one of the Russian filter subscriptions - and it found several redundancies. However, when I copied the now stripped-down list back to my Filter Subscriptions I found the original list had split into three lists - 'My Ad Blocking Rules', My Exception Rules' and 'My Element Hiding Rules'.

The problem, as I see it, is these three new lists will not automatically update whenever the original (Russian) list is updated. This problem will of course apply to any Filter Subscription altered in this way by 'Find useless filters'.

Is this correct, or have I missed something?

That is correct. Your best course of action is to notify the author of the filter subscription so the redundant filters can be removed.
