Filter in effect on whitelisted site or need help unblocking

Post by Tamerlane »

I have whitelisted www.consumersearch.com but ABP still blocks content that is not an ad -- info like the 'Updates' section on the right-hand column between the blue downward facing arrows. However, if I manually disable ABP by unticking 'Enable Adblock Plus' the content gets unblocked.

The filter in question that is overriding my whitelist seems to be #div(class=ad) from my Easyelement sub. It is the only filter shown and is in red in the Blockable Items window.

How can I unblock this content without fully disabling ABP since my attempt to whitelist does not work? I am using FF 2.0.0.13 and ABP 0.7.5.3.

Your whitelist will work in the latest development version of ABP, adblockplus-0.7.5.3+.2008040421, available from the Installation link at http://adblockplus.org/development-buil ... -plus-0754 . It works for me.

Thanks, the whitelist does seem to work properly now with the latest development build and FF 2. The same ABP build on FF 3b4 on my laptop still has some problem blocking the same content on www.consumersearch.com, but maybe when FF 3 is released this problem will get resolved.

Until then, thanks again.

Element hiding hits are not always registered in Firefox 3, this also prevents whitelisting rules to apply to element hiding (bug 425057)

The filter you mentioned falls into the element hiding catagory. See more on element hiding here.

You're welcome. Glad to hear it works for you too on Fx 2. On your laptop running Fx 3 beta, why not just disable that filter by clicking on its green bullet in the preferences window -- have you tried that yet?
