I've discovered that if I disable "YouTube Center" https://github.com/YePpHa/YouTubeCenter/ which I run via "Tampermonkey". The youtube hang reduces significantly.

Perhaps this will help somebody. Perhaps adblock devs will read it and fix the bad interaction on their side
Its been reported on youtube center issue page already by a user. The dev seem to have ignored the report

Are you sure that the hang doesn't occur with just YouTube Center by itself, without ABP?

I have verified that it is not YouTube Center's fault alone.

Disabling ABP and enabling YouTube Center also removes the hang.

Must be some sort of weird interaction of the two that cause the hang.
