Block Omniture from mining eBay data

Post by owl-eye »

Well, I know there're several users running Webservers on their Windows machines and everytime (at each site load) while surfing the mean eBay articles observing appearance of an htaccess popup asking for user and password.
This popup is generated for http://ebay0.112.2o7.net by the function function s_mr(un,sess,q,ta) of JavaScript file in base.js of eBay.

There are several possibilities, from editing hosts file (that seems to be crap), or deactivating JavaScript or Cookies or only eBay-Cookies... or deactivating the Webserver (Appache, IIS, ...) while surfing eBay.

However, the best way is to use AdBlock and block following:
http*://*.112.2o7.net/*

There'll be no more data-mining by Omniture while surfing eBay  ... until they change their domain :x
(Hopefully everybody looking for solutions concerning that damn popup notices this topic!)
