Conservative filter list for worst offenders

Post by darkestaxe »

I'm wondering where I could get a filter list that blocks the flashy animated shit but leaves the static sidebar stuff alone.

Easy-list is doing a great job of blocking 99% of the real bullshit, but it's blocking about 99% of everything else too. I'm not trying to screw content providers out of their revenue stream, I just want to be able to read a page.

For example, cool ads:
Are separate from main content
Aren't animated to the point of making it hard to read content
Do not load or play videos unless clicked

not OK:
Pages have a loud video playing upon arrival.
Scroll trackers that cover content.
Flashing bright colors, creating seizures
Animating in an obtuse manner, usually sex ads

I didn't see anything when I searched Google and this forum, but I'm not even really sure what to search for. 'Nice filters' 'only worst ads'?

Something similar is the Acceptable Ads whitelist, in conjunction with any other filter-list; however, if you'd like to start a standalone list that blocks only the worst stuff, feel free (I think you'd be allowed to derive it from EasyList to start off).
There's a buzzin' in my brain I really can't explain; I think about it before they make me go to bed.
