Possible solution to bitcointalk ads?
So bitcointalk.org is notorious for getting past EasyList filters. But for members who achieve Hero Member and higher, they are given an option to disable ads in the settings. Could that setting feature somehow be added to EasyList so everyone who has ABP can blocks the ads? I'm not sure how to go about it, but I can follow any instructions on how to obtain the code that is changed when I check this box:

AdBlock Plus extension;
Chrome 64 bit;
Subscription Lists: EasyList, EasyPrivacy, Malware Domains, Social Blocking, Adblock Warning Removal List, Spam404 and Adware filters.

That helps, but the situation with BCT is: they will update their code frequently once they catch wind that ABP is blocking ads again. In addition, they rotate in new ads all the time that can't be blocked with the old filters. (For example, I see a Noobie.io ad right now while your custom filters are active).mapx wrote:Did you try these filters ?

With the filters, there's also a small gap between the OP and the subsequent posts; whereas when I turn off ads from my user settings, all ads are gone, and there is no gap after the first post (where the ad would have been).

Re: Possible solution to bitcointalk ads?
To answer the OP: That's probably set on the server side, so even if ABP were extended way out of scope, it couldn't change that setting for you.
There's a buzzin' in my brain I really can't explain; I think about it before they make me go to bed.
