Words with Friends game via Facebook

The previous version of ABP worked a treat by removing the five adverts below the game and also prevented the between moves pop up from er.. popping up (though it was replaced by a spinning wheel type thing.
The newer version does nothing to prevent the static or pop up ads. i read that pop ups cannot be prevented but can anything be done with the five ads below the game which, whilst out of view , take up a lot of resources, to the point of Safari suggesting I close the page.
