Adblock Plus causing cfprefsd to write a lot of data to disk

I am seeing a significant amount of data being written to disk by cfprefsd when Adblock Plus is enabled. For example, over the course of 2 days, 4.5 GB was written by cfprefsd.
I skimmed over the code and noticed that we are syncing the filter lists every hour. I also looked at the modification date of Adblock Plus’s preferences file and it kept changing every hour.
Can we increase this time interval to something more reasonable like a few days? I should be able to use Adblock Plus without decreasing the lifespan of my SSD.

OS X Version: 10.10.2
