On my configuration it also does not block any YouTube ads. There are video ads before the video and banners during the video.

I’m using Safari 7.0.1 on OS X 10.9.1, English language. I subscribed to EasyList Germany+EasyList.

Thanks a lot!

If you open a video directly in Safari (a link like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=*), it should block the video ads.

Note that video ads cannot be blocked if you watch another video from the sidebar on the right or at the end of the video (endscreen). The problem is that the page is not reloaded completely in those cases (everytime you see that red loading bar at the top of Youtube.com). Opening new videos in a new tab should help. That's not optimal of course but it's the best that can be done at the moment.

It doesn't help. In Safari, YT ads before actual video are not blocked!

I have the default configuration for ABP (haven't touched anything), and when I open a youtube video from youtube's page (either from the related videos on the side, or from my subscriptions), there are both the video ads and the banner ads that can be closed.

As I wrote earlier in the topic: this will not work since in that case Youtube is not reloaded completely.

I just found a way to force YouTube to load the full page when navigating to another video, that we can also block ads in subsequent videos. So when you are on the latest devbuild 1.7.4.1113, you shouldn't see any ads on YouTube anymore.
