Adblock Plus

Hi ! New to this forum, please guide me/forgive if I made a mistake in posting
as a new item instead of, maybe, adding to an older thread (?). Anyway, here's
my problem : I downloaded and installed ABP for IE11 on this Win 7 (Ultimate) 32 bits.
[edited to add : processor AMD-Athlon XP, no SSE2 - your addon WOULDN'T use SSE2, especially NOT without testing the processor supports it, right ? Sorry for asking]

[edit #2 : where can I find older versions of the addon, just in case THAT might make a difference ?]

ABP just ISN'T working here! Worse, it crashes on browser shutdown (see further down).

Nothing related to the extension in IE status line,

NO patterns.ini (whatever) was created;

BHOs are NOT disabled in Internet Settings.

Whole contents of the file AppData\LocalLow\Adblock Plus for IE\settings.ini :

Only DISABLING the add-on in IE 11 removes the crash on terminate.
Adds are NOT suppressed... OF COURSe !

Known problem ? What do I do next PLEASE ?

If you have other addons/plugins installed in IE try removing them (especially java)

Hi Map ! Thanks for the interest you took in my question.
However, I have NO other installed add-ons (BHO or otherwise).
This is a fresh, installed a couple days ago, Win 7 and IE11.

After my earlier post, I uninstalled ABP fully, found and installed the
earlier version " 1.2 " - no joy, same punishment !

Still hoping for a solution !

Meanwhile I tried the beta - same results - the BHOs set themselves inside the browser but crash
randomly during browsing and when closing IE11. Evidently the install wasn't completed, ABP does nothing no icon in status bar, surely no list downloaded and of course and no action on adds whatsoever. I give up till the programmers confirm they have not been setting their compilers to generate SSE2+ instructions needlessly without even checking for processor support...

Done although I'd hoped to get further hints from this forum
before filing a meaningful bug report...

I have known and used ABP for Chrome and Firefox on other systems,
this is why I am taking the pains to fill said report. Hope it helps !

just registered here and hope this topic isn't to old to reply to as i have just gone through the EXACT same thing as OP when trying to get adblock to work on a Windows 7 ultimate, amd Athlon xp processor machine using ie11.

about the only difference between me and OP is that I can't get ie to go anywhere. I always open ie using a blank page, but as soon as I click a favorite or type in an url manually, ie crashes.
