Switch-off social media buttons in IE

Can anybody help to switch off social media buttons in Internet explorer ?
The prescribed wow doesn't work.

-prepare in firefox all your lists (including the fanboy's social list)
-replace the patterns.ini file from ABP for IE with that from firefox

I wonder the same thing...I want to pay for advertising on Facebook, but it says they will not allow me to do so unless I disable my ad blocker for Facebook. How do I do that? You have to talk to me really slow because I am technically challenged. I can't believe I found this forum! It just showed up like AN AD on my desktop so I followed some links around until I found you. I hope you can help soon. Disabling adblock for social media.

-go to facebook site
-click ABP icon on the status bar (at the bottom of your IE)
-click "Disable on www.facebook.com"

click "view" on the menu bar, toolbars, be sure "Status bar" is checked
