1.2xxx Versions Not Working With Google, Amazon

I have been using a much older version (a couple years old) and got a message this morning (over the status icon) that said that I should update to the newer release version (1.2). I did this and now when I search on Google, the results display but after a couple seconds disappear with a page not found and the page changes to https://client5.google.com/. Similar issues with Amazon and Washington Post where the desired page is displayed for a couple seconds and switches to a doubleclick ad address along with the page not found error. I tried checking and unchecking the "acceptable ads" checkbox but the only cure was to completely disable adblock plus.

I obviously was using a much older version because the status icon was a blue color circle and slash that turned grey when disabled. Also, the older version I was using did not have any provision for "Acceptable Ads". I have had no issues using on W7 64b with IE11 and previous versions of IE with the older AdBlock software. There is something obviously very different with the current release version. How can I switch back? The old version worked well and I should have not allowed the update. The update also wiped out the exception list that had been built over the last few years...

Follow up - I reverted to the 1.0x version of AdblockPlus and all is again working well. The 1.2 version with "Acceptable Ads" is UNACCEPTABLE in its current form. I'm curious why this open source software considers any ads as "acceptable" when we can search for things ourselves and can turn the ad blocking on and off when needed. The 1.2x product does not play well with IE11, which is necessary for some applications and it is disappointing that the 1.2 product appears to be less capable than previous versions and interferes with normal operation of mainstream pages. Delayed loading by doubleclick and others seems to totally confuse the operation of Adblock Plus 1.2x. Make sure you download and save the previous version for future use and turn off the updates until the current product gets straightened out.
