ABP IE11 (W8.1) when enabled IE freezes/crashes on bing.com

When ABP is installed and enabled on IE11, navigating to bing.com causes the entire window to freeze. I tried resetting IE to default settings and as long as ABP is not enabled, bing.com comes up just fine.

I have also tried repairing the plugin, and still have the same issue.

Some more troubleshooting.
Turning off "Protected Mode" for the internet zone allows bing to be loaded.
I did run into a similar problem with outlook.com when it prompted me to allow silverlight. As soon as I said "yes" outlook.com would not load for me. It did not seem to crash the browser like bing, but it would not load. Maybe this has to do with siliverlight?

Addendum: Also crashes when searching through the URL bar. Also reproducible with Google set as the default search engine in the URL bar.

Also Windows 8.1 with AdBlock Plus 1.1 installed.

I have the exact same issue. Using Windowes 8.1 and IE 11 with Adblock Plus 1.1. When I go to bing.com and other microsoft websites IE 11 freezes up and I have to end task on it. Once I disable adblock plus all the sites work fine.

It started for me the same as you, when I was asked to allow silverlight to run. The message said silverlight would run outside of protected mode. I answered yes to the prompt and the adblock issues started.

I also think it may be a bigger issue than just bing and ms sites as I had problems on other websites last night, but didn't connect the dots and realize it was adblock plus causing the issues, so I don't have a list of affected sites.

I did not try turning off protected mode, I'll give that a try tonight. I tired a reboot and repairing the plugin, no help. For now I just disabled adblock plus and all was fine.

I didn't really dig into troubleshooting to much last night when the issues started, but it does seem like something to do with adblock plus, silver light, and protected mode.

As a side note: my adblock plus menu in IE 11 does not have the options to report an issue like it does in Firefox and I also couldn't find a way to remove adblock plus from IE 11, like you can remove other add-ons. Also I did not have these problems when using Simple Adblock, which is the predecessor to Adblock Plus.

It was working fine ... but today, I get the same issue. I can't do a search in bing or google...without ie 11 crashing. Firefox's version works fine.

disabling protection mode is not a solution.

I guess not using the ad blocker is.

Win 8.1 x64, all add-ons disabled except ABP and Flash.
If Bing is default home tab it loads, but not if I try to open it in a new tab.
Google.com works though.

Hello to everyone,
I'm new here. Actually I have never thought that I would like to use IE, but IE 11 speed is just amazing. So have installed ABP for IE, it has run fine for like first 15 minutes, but later it froze the IE 11. After that while the ADB is enabled the IE freezes even at fresh start-up, making ABP unusable . I hope that developers will find the solution.

I've had similar issues. Both outlook.com and google mail fail to load. Searches via address bar or bing directly also fail. Turning off protected mode in the options appears to fix the problem.

enterprise windows 8.1 installed clean yesterday. no programs or addon installed. only adblock plus. and it hangs on search, i first thought ms didnt like torrents, cause i was searching "utorrent". and it never came up. later i realized the whole thing had freezed.

this was at 14 january 2014, hope for fix soon.

Firefox works, but really wanna try IE these days.
