Could anybody please provide some more details on this issue? I am not able to reproduce this anyhow. What exactly are you doing step by step? Which filter list do you have enabled in Adblock Plus? Are Acceptable Ads enabled? What is the exact version of your Adblock Plus installation?

1. "Newer version of ABP available" popup appears.
2. Accept popup to update to "newer version"
3. All attempts to go to "google.com" redirect to "https://clients5.google.com/pagead/drt/dn/", a blank webpage.
This is with all ABP settings at default, using EasyList, with "Allow some non-intrusive advertising" enabled. ABP after August 18 update blocks Google search.

I can circumvent this problem by adding "google.com" to the exceptions list.
