IE 10 and Windows 8

Post by sloperk »

I am using IE 10 on Windows 8. I am running IE 10 from my desktop - that is I am not using the IE version that is on the touch screen. Ad Block is not working. I read about using a filtered list but there are no instructions as to how one does that in Internet Explorer. Please help.

Do you see the ABP icon in the status bar?

Even though there is no icon on the status bar, I do have it enabled in "Manage Add-Ons"

Have you tried removing and re-installing it yet?

IE 10

Yes, I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it. I enabled it in "Manage add-on". Still no icon and still no blocking of ads :-(

uninstall all your other addons (or uninstall all including ABP and reinstall it after reboot), reboot the system and test again
be sure to uninstall your IE antivirus plugin

Never got it to work. I did solve the problem by buying a CPU that had Windows 7 and Adblock Plus works fine on it :-)
