Opening new tab spikes memory usage
Opening new tab spikes memory usage
Opening a new tab in Internet Explorer 10 Windows 7 spikes memory usage in AdblockPlusEngine.exe and keeps going up with every new tab opened. If you close the new tabs you opened, it doesn't release the memory in AdblockPlusEngine.exe.
Re: Opening new tab spikes memory usage
How much memory is that for you, roughly? When I open IE initially, AdblockPlusEngine uses around 80 MB. When I open a bunch of tabs, nothing happens. When I load a bunch of sites (doesn't matter whether it's one after another in the same tabs or in parallel in new tabs), it slowly climbs, using around 1-5 MB for each site. The memory is indeed not being released right away, but it should be eventually when the Garbage Collector gets around to it.
That behaviour is pretty much in line with ABP for Firefox I think.
