IE11 Hangs on Startup

This thread is similar to the one posted about IE10. There are some suggestions to upgrade to IE11 and I wanted to make sure it was understood that this issue happens with IE11 as well. I have Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit, IE11 and ABP 1.5. Probably about 50% of the time, IE will hang on startup with a blank screen and also none of the toolbars have populated either. I can start Task Manager and End Process on AdblockPlusEngine.exe and IE will immediately finish loading. My wife's laptop is running similar versions and exhibits the same behavior. Both machines have McAfee Total Protection installed. If I disable ABP1.5, IE will start just fine every time.

What if you disable McAfee (if McAfee is also firewall for you be sure to keep ON the windows firewall during the tests) ? same behaviour ?
Check also your IE addons, do you see some McAfee plugin / addon ?

Can you cancel IE instead of adblock, when you have this problem? Then, after IE is gone, does adblock continue to show up in taskmgr as a lonely, separate process?

If so, it is what I was describing in this thread forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=40668, way back then. I am glad to see that I wasn't crazy, and that others have the same issue.
