I absolutely do not know Google Chrome so if you do not mind if I install Google Chrome is also what you can tell me what are the main course I have to install extensions also heard good protection (I guess but Adblock Plus which lists), software downloads, and other etc.)

give a try at the last stable chrome version (35)
and obviously install ABP

as subscriptions (filter lists / features)
-easylist (the main list)
and optional:
-easyprivacy
-malware domains

other extensions ? it depends what are your needs, the store is full of extensions
