How to block Google "A faster way to browse the web" ads
How to block Google "A faster way to browse the web" ads
Is there any way to block a frame in a page?
For example, the google frame in the google search home page who says "A faster way to browse the web. Install Google Chrome" in Internet Explorer 11.
I red this blog: http://vistacomputersolutions.blogspot. ... -your.html who explains how to do it but it seems not working with me or maybe that's the way to hide the Google blue bar at the top.
Any help on this will be useful.

Re: How to block Google "A faster way to browse the web" ads
as you know there aren't the custom filters in IE
so, you have to prepare your list + custom filters in firefox (patterns.ini file) and replace patterns.ini in ABP for IE
try this filter
alternative:
the filter is present in the fanboy's annoyances list so ...you could add that list in firefox and then again use patterns.ini from firefox in ABP for IE

Hi mapx,
Thank you for your answer.
I should be very noob but I tried all you said without success.
Would you mind paste a patterns.ini here so I can try to copy/paste in my side please?

Re: How to block Google "A faster way to browse the web" ads
it seems doesn't work in IE
(not all the hiding filters are working as in firefox / chrome, the devs will implement another approach ... soon)

Re: How to block Google "A faster way to browse the web" ads
you could use an utility as
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/internet_e ... _view.html

Re: How to block Google "A faster way to browse the web" ads
Thanks for the tools.
I've identifed the cookie responsible for the Google ad:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies
There is a txt file inside which contains crypted randomized informations.
Furthermore, the txt file name changes when I click on the cross of the ad.
So for me at this point, it's mission impossible.

Re: How to block Google "A faster way to browse the web" ads
Hi,
That's looks great for one computer, but how do you do that for thousands of computers? How could you integrate that in a golden image? In large scale deployment, I really don't see how to deal with.
