New Version Allows Youtube ads?

Post by Jazcat »

Did a fresh install of windows 8.1 and adblock plus, even turning off the new "allow unobtrusive advertising" still is letting youtube video ads play, also seeing popups but they're empty. Some other news sites also seeing video ads.

Is this by design in the new version to allow these? I read somewhere adblock team were paid out by google to allow youtube ads.

Yes I strongly discourage anyone to upgrade to 1.2, you'll start getting ads in youtube and other sites even if you turn off the "allow unobtrusive ads" option.

EDIT: Seems the latest development build works, no ads devbuilds/adblockplusie/00latest.exe

Use that instead of 1.2

All Youtube ads are blocked for me with Win7 64 bit, IE11 & ABP ver: 1.2.

The only problem I have with ver: 1.2 is some flash videos on other sites are blocked. They just show as spinning loading icons.
