AdBlock Plus on Nexus 4 and Nexus 10

Post by Hyflex »

Devices:
  • Google LG Nexus 4 (Phone) - Android 4.2.2 (Non-Rooted)
  • Google Samsung 10 (Tablet) - Android 4.2.2 (Non-Rooted)
Browsers:
  • Google Chrome
  • Google Chrome Beta
  • Mozilla Firefox Beta
AdBlock Plus
  • AdBlock Plus 1.0.1
  • AdBlock Plus Development Build (Downloaded on 14/03/2013)
I've tried all of the above possible combinations

- Google Chrome and Google Chrome Beta on AdBlock Plus = White/Blank Pages
- Google Chrome and Google Chrome Beta on AdBlock Plus Development Build = Error 500 (See coded response at bottom of this post)
- Mozilla Firefox Beta on AdBlock Plus = Stable, but I hate Firefox on Android
- Mozilla Firefox Beta on AdBlock Plus Development Build = Unstable, constant loss of connection / failure to load pages.

Code: Select all

Got the error: Server Error
while trying to obtain http://www.bbc.co.uk/
Connection refused

You cant get chrome to work by uninstalling all updates.

I have both devices and I experience exactly the same behaviour and agree about Firefox, why cant they have the tab bar shown instead of making it a hassle to change or delete tabs. Its a shame because the adblockplus addon works perfectly for it.

Google Chrome Beta was updated about two hours ago and it fixes the white page bug. Perfect.

I also love my new Nexus 4 overall. However -- even with the brightness setting in the nightstand section of the app set to minimum -- the screen still puts out a lot of light :(. I'm unsure if this is an unavoidable issue with the phone hardware or something fixable with Gentle Alarm, but alas the situation makes the app unusable by my bedside :\

Any ideas? Thanks!
