How does adblock works on adnroid

Post by JD »

Recently I've lots of troubles with mobile data connection on my Galaxy Nexus, operating under CM 10.
I suppose that troubles were caused by some changes in CM 10, which aren't compatible with Adblock funtionality.

Problem appears after some usage of internet. Right after reboot mobile data works for couple of minutes and just stops working. There aren't any `h/h+` or `e` signs displayed at notification panel. Looks like mobile data is disabled, though it isn't. I've found out that there aren't any mobile operator APN in settings.

So my question is regarding how Adblock works? I assume that Adblock removes APN, and instead raises a local proxy on my device. So all mobile trafic is routed through this proxy, and there is now way for apps to consume internet directly. But since some recent changes in CM, APNs are removed, but local proxy doesn't work as it supposed to.

Can somebody, who knows how Adblock works, please advice. How far from truth I am?

Thanks a lot.
