Adblock Plus for Opera should mimic Adblock Plus for Chrome

Post by operauser735 »

Hi all, new here as of tonight. Overall, unless I'm missing something very obvious, I find that the Chrome version is so much more user friendly than its Opera cousin. In the Chrome version, the Adblock Plus icon appears in each tab, allowing a very simple "per site" use. Click it on, click it off. No dealing with filters, at least that I am aware of. And in Firefox, there is an icon at the bottom (status bar) which allows for enabling or disabling by site, page, etc. Why does this option not exist in Opera?

Hello,

In the Opera version, the Adblock Plus icon appears on the right side of the address bar on all web pages. It's missing from Private Windows by default, unless you enable the "Allow in private mode" option on the Extensions tab. It also won't appear for built-in pages like the Speed Dial tab or the Settings tab, because there's nothing to block there.
Image
  1. Click the Opera button in the top left corner of the window and choose Extensions, or press Ctrl+Shift+E.
  2. On the Extensions tab that opened, below the Adblock Plus entry, click the Options button.
  3. On the Adblock Plus Options tab that opened, click the General tab.
  4. Make sure the "Show icon in address bar" option is checked.

I thought that for the new Chromium-based versions of Opera, the extensions would be the same.
There's a buzzin' in my brain I really can't explain; I think about it before they make me go to bed.
