Adblock Plus

The combination AdBlock Plus + Firefox + Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks does not work well.
Having AdBlock Plus enabled adds 10 seconds to Firefox startup time (the time from starting the application Firefox until the main window appears.)
Disabling AdBlock Plus makes Firefox start very fast.

This is on:
- AdBlock plus downloaded (the official way) and installed today.
- FireFox version 25.0
- Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks
- MacBook Air mid 2011

This huge delay due to AdBlock Plus is only present on Mac OS X 10.9.
On earlier versions of Mac OS X (i.e. 10.8 ) I did not notice any delay from AdBlock Plus.
(Or maybe there was a new version of AdBlock Plus that introduced the delay at the same time that I upgraded Mac OS X to 10.9.)

do you use now the same subscriptions as before ?
try also disabling all other addons to try again

Yes, I use the same subscriptions as before.

I use no other add-ons.

(I have temporarily switched from FireFox to Safari. AdBlock for Safari works with Safari and Mac OS X 10.9 without any problems.)

Not only is startup delayed for me in Firefox, but all browsing is slowed down a good 3 seconds at least. I tried deleting and re-installing AdBlock, deleting and re-installing subscriptions, enabling one subscrription at a time; none of these made any difference.

In general, I've found Mavericks to be an improvement on my mid-2012 MBP...this is the only problem area.

True wih Firefox 23.x -24.x and new 25.0.

A pity...
