Youtube ads getting through

Post by Fishbowl »

A few days ago, I started seeing advertisements of all types (banners, video, etc.) on Youtube. I thought that maybe Youtube somehow updated their ads to get through ABP, but when I came here there were barely any other similar reports. So this may not be a bug, but a problem with my own setup.
ABP has worked perfectly in the past, and I don't recall fiddling with before now. I saw something in another thread about their being a problem with the NPAPI extension of Adobe Flash, so I disabled NPAPI and made sure PPAPI was enabled. After restarting chrome, the ads still are not being blocked.

Running ABP 1.7.4 on Chrome 31.0.1650.57 m

Also, I double checked white list, permissions, and all that jazz.

well, your version isnt affected by the flash's type

so, be sure you still have easylist enabled

also if you didnt you could scan for malware / adware using malwarebytes anti malware

try also disabling all other extensions for another test

Thank you, I ran a malware scan and took care of a few problems.
Unfortunately, that didn't seem to fix the issue. I tried disabling all other extensions, but that also did not work. Weird... I'll try reinstalling ABP and see if that helps.

Reinstalling didn't help either. There are way too many mandatory Chili's ads on Youtube.

If this issue should still occur after having tried mapx' suggestion, please file it at https://issues.adblockplus.org
