Multiple tabs opened after every update

Hello,
I'm a long time AdblockPlus user and I was mostly fine with the process of how Adblock announces updates by opening a new tab when I open a new blank tab. But recently this have become out of control. Just moments ago I opened a new tab and adblock opened 3 tabs (see screenshot below). Yesterday on my spouse's computer she got no less than 6 tabs!!!
I'm on linux mint 21 with chrome latest version, my spouse is on windows 10 with also the latest chrome.
Have anyone else experienced this?

I can fully confirm this case. On my Desktop it opens 6-10 tabs, but just 10 minutes ago on my MacBook I had a hard freeze in Chrome, and then around 100 tabs were opened, telling me absolutely the same "ABP has been updated". If this will continue, I will have to delete ABP.

Check out what I found hidden deep among the settings of adblock! Is this supposed to be the place where I can finally get rid of these popups? If so then WHY IS IT TICKED IN BY DEFAULT????

This is definitely odd behavior. I've been using Adblock Plus for years and have never experienced it opening multiple tabs after an update. Maybe try disabling and re-enabling the extension to see if that helps.
