Hi I have used ABP for quite a while without issues but of late a certain website "Vumoo at" is some how throwing what ever adds it wants when i visit the site. I am using Chrome version 53.0.2785.143m on windows 10 1607 14393.222 32bit ABP blocks perfectly ok in the Edge browser but chrome is wide open even get the Rogue tech ads, it is not just ABP I have tried some of the other blockers from the chrome store and none of them work against this site. I have resorted to using a modified hosts file which blocks a lot of them but I remain mystified as to how they are doing it.

- What ABP version are you using ?
- Check your filter liusts - see if there are errors in that page (click ABP icon, options)
- scan your system for malware / adware
use malwarebytes antimalware (free version) ==>
https://www.malwarebytes.org/
and adwcleaner
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/
- upload a screenshot with what ads you see on that site (use imgur.com for uploading, post here the link)
-Are you talking about ads or popups ?
add this filter

Hi I run virus scans on a daily basis and my pc is clean. abp version is 1.12.2 I loaded it from this website today just to make sure it is not a fake. I get pop ups pop unders all triggered by clicking into a search box or some other hidden link. they show adrunner.com, servepopads.net, the worst is storage.googlepis.com which is the rogue tech add I have to hit ctrl alt delete and log out to lose that one, defender picks it up straight away and removes it adw cleaner finds nothing. these are all things that abp should block and does on other browsers, edge or ie have no problem with the site. beginning to wonder if Microsoft have disabled something so chrome won,t operate properly. It has me beat and I am no novice. Strangely when I visit the site with no ad block the ads are less aggressive just the odd one or two.
That filter helped only one ad got through on 3 visits, I will have to look at how to create them its not something I have ever had to do
Many Thanks Mike

Have you scanned with MalwareBytes specifically? It often finds problems that other scanners don't.
Also, what other extensions do you have? It is entirely possible that one of your other extensions has started to serve ads, and even if Google gets wise to this and removes that extension from the store, it's still active if you had it installed.
Either that (a good extension gone rogue), or an extension installed by malware, could be why Chrome has this sort of problem and Edge doesn't; I know that normally, ABP works much better in Chrome than in IE or Edge.

Hi I ran malerwarebytes found nothing, I only have two extensions apart from ABP and they are VGet & VGet controller I removed them both to no avail. This morning ABP was blocking all ads on the site but after removing the filter you gave me all pop up ads were back Rogues included. ABP was still working as the normal site ads were not showing and counter was showing how many had been blocked but the triggered ones came with every click on a link. I have since reinstalled my apps and the filter and all seems to be well, I see the screen flick as they try to load something but as of late nothing is getting through. I think they have found a way of exploiting something in Chrome that the filter lists are not dealing with but of course I could be wrong.
Thanks once again Mike
