-if you synchronize your chrome with your google account you dont loose any stuff (sync bookmarks, extensions ...)
-many times your profile is corrupted or even some executable files from chrome, so you have to reinstall chrome or reset chrome

You can:
1.synchronize all your stuff using your google account ==> it works very well.
or
2.go into settings, bookmarks, bookmarks manager ==> export your bookmarks

what_to_do wrote:What to do:

1. scan your system for malware / adware
use malwarebytes antimalware ==> http://filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware
and adwcleaner http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/A ... 12632.html

2. some malwares could modify the HOSTS file ==> restore the default HOSTS file: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/how-to-se ... to-default

3. reset chrome: https://support.google.com/chrome/answe ... 4?hl=en-GB

or
uninstall chrome
reinstall from ==> https://www.google.com/chrome/

4. install adblock plus ==> https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... fddb?hl=en

I'm afraid this just hasn't worked for me. I've followed each step, scanned for malware (and found and deleted what was there), rest chrome, everything. And yes, no matter what I do, I am still experiencing the NETWORK_FAILURE error every time I try to add it, and no matter who I try to download it from in the webstore. Similarly, downloading it direct from the site just doesn't work, it never arrives.

This computer is new and this post six months old--I can think of no good reason why I should be unable to download this. I am also having problems with Adblock on firefox, which will be reported there.

Did you try also to uninstall / reinstall chrome ?

Disable all other extensions in chrome and even all your security software in windows: keep only windows firewall enabled

If does not work even reinstalling chrome, try (as a test) using chrome portable and install ABP for this one
chrome portable: http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/g ... e_portable
(put chrome portable in a folder on your desktop and be sure to have admin rights)
