Flash Ads Not Being Blocked

Post by Racecarlock »

It started just today and I updated the list but they're still getting through. On escapist and arcadeprehacks. Please fix as soon as you can.

That seems to cause problems of it's own. Could you fix this in the next update?

I don't think google is going to fix this considering they run an advertising service.

Well, they locked that thread you linked to outside users. But I am still getting ads and they're still not being blocked. I don't know how technical I can get here. Maybe if there's a log somewhere?

Yes I did and it does indeed work. The problem is that PPAPI sucks, taking up %100 of the system even to watch a youtube video. So if I watch a longer video on that guy with the glasses I have to switch players to do it, then switch back for youtube because youtube center, luckily, seems to still be able to block the ads.

So I would still like to see a fix from your end. Ads still not being blocked, by the way.

If pepperflash was better optimized, I might have been using it. But it uses up the whole system just for youtube alone. Adblock still isn't working on flash things and I need NPSWF fixed.

probably the chromium patch will land with chrome 34, but it seems they will dismiss completely the npapi plugins (2-3 months later) so ...will be only ppapi

Ok, well, is there a patch that makes PPAPI less shit? I mean, all hardware acceleration options possible on this browser are disabled including the one hidden in advanced options. It still uses the whole system. Could you talk to the coders, see if they can get it optimized better?

I know PPAPI has some issues, I know also NPAPI will be no more supported in 2-3 months but I have not direct contact with any of chromium developers ...

IMHO the flash player have to die, it has a lot of issues (npapi or ppapi)
