Funny site behaviour with ABP.

Post by chewey »

I recently got a report about my list causing a false positive on
http://www.praevention-online.de/news_i ... s05_011106

The funny thing: Switch off ABP, reload, switch ABP back on,
reload - and presto, the content stays there...

It obviously has to do with blocking some external JS scripts.
What I don't get is, why it suddenly works even with ABP on.

Any ideas?

(Oh, yes, my list: http://chewey.de/mozilla/data/adblock.txt)

The scripts that you are blocking change the location of the content frame after the page is loaded. The reload function in Firefox doesn't reset the frames meaning that the frame address stays unless you press Shift+Reload.

Oh, yes - now that I know it, it's obvious. :-)

Thanks a lot.

@chewey:

By any chance, does your false-positive have to do with a stylesheet there by any chance. Something that:

Code: Select all

*/banner/*$~stylesheet
.. or something similar could fix?

That one stylesheet operates the navigation layout.
