ad blocker not working with my intel arc graphic card lenovo laptop.

Tried the following solutions:

Checked the system requirements for the ad blocker.
Checked if the ad blocker is up-to-date and updated.
Checked if the ad blocker is properly configured and enabled.
Tryied a different ad blocker to see if it works better with my device.

help me, or suggest me some ideas how it will work, ads are really annoying these days.

if a block element is not appearing in ABP, it's important to first make sure that ABP is properly installed and activated, and to report any issues with specific ads or ad-blocking techniques to the ABP team.

For me everything was working just fine until I updated ABP today. New godawful version wiped my huge Custom list and unsuccessfully "reloads page" after each new element is blocked to no avail. I have to manually reload the page several times before the element is finally blocked, or I have to restart Firefox.

Now I'll have to do an extremely messy system restore and hope the old version is restored which I will NEVER update again.

If a block element is not appearing in ABP (assuming you're referring to AdBlock Plus, a popular ad-blocking browser extension), there could be a few possible reasons:

Filter List Issue: AdBlock Plus relies on filter lists to block specific elements on webpages. It's possible that the block element you're expecting to see is not covered by the filter lists you have enabled. You can try updating your filter lists or adding custom filters to address this.

Specific Website Exception: Some websites may have implemented measures to bypass ad blockers. They can use techniques to hide or disguise elements from ad blockers, making them appear even if you have an ad blocker installed. In such cases, the website has likely found a way to circumvent ABP's blocking mechanisms.

Element Not Classified as an Ad: AdBlock Plus primarily focuses on blocking advertisements. If the block element you're referring to is not classified as an ad by ABP's filters, it might not be blocked. ABP primarily targets elements that fit specific criteria of known ad formats.

AdBlock Plus helps protect users from unwanted ads, but occasional issues may arise. Understanding the reasons behind a block element's absence can help optimize the ad-blocking experience. :D

Out of the blue element blocker stopped working in Waterfox, a Firefox clone, about two weeks ago, when Waterfox was updated. It works fine on an older browser (pre FF 57), so I tried rolling back the extension to an older version, 3.8.4 - no joy. When I try to block an element on ANY website a new tab opens to preview the page before you can click on "add", but that page never loads - it tries to load

moz-extension://cf9d026a-521a-4e7c-90c7-7d65780d4c9f/composer.html

So I can no longer use Element hider AT ALL - the odd thing is that previously blocked elements are still being blocked, I just cannot add to the list, and I can't find where the list is stored either - in the old version (2.8.2) that I'm running in that older browser you can see all of your custom filters, and disable them temporarily if needed - you can no longer do this in newer versions.

This is what I see in the old browser when blocking an element:

Vs. what I see in the new version:

Why did ABP element hider break on every single website I try to use in on in my preferred browser?

It seems like you're facing an issue where a block element is not appearing as expected in ABP (which could stand for several things, such as AdBlock Plus or a different context). There could be several reasons for this issue. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:
1.Check the Element's CSS : Make sure that the CSS properties of the block element are correctly defined. Check for any potential errors, such as typos in class names or incorrect CSS rules.
2. Inspect the Element : Use your browser's developer tools to inspect the element and see if it's being hidden or modified by any CSS rules. This can help you identify if there's an issue with the element's styling.
If you can provide more specific details about the context, the type of block element you're referring to, and any relevant code snippets or error messages, I'd be happy to provide more targeted assistance.

divineeye - who were you addressing your response to? Suggesting people use the Developer Inspector console to check CSS properties is pushing things way past the limits of most people's ability - I'm a relative geek and I still can barely wade my way around inside there - even when I manage to find the CSS I'm looking for I don't really know how to change anything to fix a problem.

On the Waterfox support forum I posted about this problem and another one I was having where some websites suddenly wouldn't display properly - on a couple sites where there are drop-down menus or arrows to narrow down a search I was seeing what looked like some coding overlayed on top of the actual menu, making everything illegible. Those websites worked normally in the Brave browser, where I don't have ABP installed, so someone suggested I have a corrupt Waterfox profile and that I should create a new user profile to see if that fixes the ABP problem and the websites not displaying properly problem. I haven't done this yet because recreating my old profile will take at least a day - I have so many extensions and customizations in Waterfox getting a new profile to look and work like my current one takes a ton of work. And since I don't know what's corrupt I don't know which of my old profile's files (like key4.db, logins.json, prefs.js etc.) are safe to copy, meaning which file(s) may contain the corrupted stuff.

Out of desperation I installed Ublock Origin and it will block some of the "unblockable elements" that ABP doesn't see - running them side by side right now because I don't want to lose all the rules I already have set up in ABP, but I have no idea where that info is stored in newer versions of ABP - in the old version you could see all custom rules and import/export them to another browser (or new profile) - are filters no longer contained in a separate file? If that's true I have no idea how to copy the old profile's ABP rules to the new profile - I've done a cursory search to find the filter file but came up blank - do you know what it's filename is in new ABP?

Block element" not showing up can be caused by outdated ABP, conflicting extensions, or cache issues. Try updating, disabling extensions, or clearing cache to fix. If problem persists, report it to ABP.
