I have to turn off Adblock to be able to watch some videos on Youtube

Post by PPNog »

Hello,

Since a few days ago I had to turn off Adblock to be able to watch some videos on Youtube. As soon as I turn off and refresh the videos start playing. I use a Mac M1 and Firefox 103.0.2 (64-bit)
I've cleaned cookies and cache but it didn't work.
Is this happening to anyone else?
Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Yes, same here with Ubuntu 20.04 and Firefox 104.0. Most of the YouTube site seemed normal, but trying to play a video resulted in an endless spin animation, until I disabled ABP on the whole YouTube site.

An update on my findings: the problem came back after watching one or two more videos. Disabling ABP entirely did not help. However, YouTube did function normally in a Private Window. Next, I went into Firefox Settings --> Cookies and Site Data --> Manage Data and deleted everything with YouTube in the name. After signing in again, YouTube is back to working normally.
