How do you get color names like green for Hubird. I want to know before I register.

Why do some usergroups appear in a different colour?
It is possible for the board administrator to assign a colour to the members of a usergroup to make it easy to identify the members of this group.
Basically board administrators can be red (Wladimir) and Global moderators can be green and registered users blue... These are pretty much default phpbb settings.

It's a moderator of the forum. Meaning if someone does something not allowed here they have the ability to delete post edit post and so on. It's to help protect the forums from spam and abuse.

Registering will not allow you to choose your name colour, it will allow you to edit your own posts and a few other extra features.

If you are really interested in learning about phpbb I suggest you do a google search or visit the phpbb web site.

You can use the firefox extension Stylish. Then apply this code:

Code: Select all

@namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml);

@-moz-document domain("adblockplus.org"){
 A[href^="./memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=############"]{
  color:#00AA00!important;
  font-weight:bold!important;
 }
}
Replace ############ with your profile number and it should work. (For example my number is 390, you can see the number by hovering the mouse over my username)

Everybody can have whatever colour they want. But green is still the most ugly colour in the world :wink:

There weren't many options available that didn't clash or merge with other board colours...

At the end of the day it does not really matter...

Because it's optional, but why do you even care? This is an ABP forum for ABP topics, not a phpBB FAQ. The thread is getting more and more pointless :)

Obviously it shows for your computer only.

I now made "Global moderators" the default group for our other global moderators as well - now all of them will be properly visible. phpBB is definitely strange in that respect...

Adblock Plus Fan's default user group still appears to be "Registered users"...

It was always very easy to see my own posts without even reading being the only "Global Moderator") who bothered to change user group... :wink:
