So, I am bugged by a few new pop-ups.
I'd like to kill these, preferably last year, because they annoy the living daylights out of me.
One, and I fail to get why I get this one, is a "warning: PC is under attack" with a secondary pop-up requiring log-in info (some sort of hijack-site???).
It's not doing a bloody thing, thankfully, but having this popped up is just... how shall I put this, in a tactful way... it wants me to grab a minigun, go out, and kill me a heap of many several a lot random folks.
I tried the SETTINGS => ADVANCED => FILTER LIST => ADD NEW FILTER => https//blahblah.crap/* => SAVE, but to no avail, it comes straight through, for whatever reason.
So, how can I get rid of that @%$$%$ thing?
Also, might I please suggest a button that when you have a site you want removed, you can simply hit a button, and have ABP block that site for me?
Or a shortcut, that does not depend on that log-in box that blocks the whole Firefox (I need to escape and hit the close in VERY short sequence to close that frikken site)?
Thank you VERY much:
Xog.

Re: How to block a complete site + Block Site Button suggestion
If you get that crap whatever site you visit then it's about some malware were installed in your PC. ABP - and any other adblocker - cannot help in these cases."warning: PC is under attack"
read how-to remove such nasty things:
adware
If you get such crap when you visit a specific site just provide the site link.
Re: How to block a complete site + Block Site Button suggestion
True, the site that gives me this is a PB site.
When I go for a movie, this bloddy thing (and others) pop up, ignoring the rule set.
I am not even sure, I made the rule to block those pop ups in the correct way.
I've been googling for help, but the sites speak of blocking parts, or add exceptions (thus allowing), but NOT about blocking a complete link.
Well, complete...
As I said, I use the https//name.ext followed by /* to block everything from that particular "server".
So not just site X would be blocked, but Y, and Z as well.
However, for some reason, APB just does not accept the rule...
I will do a scan, of course.
I will update this post once I get the results of the scan.
Right now though I am in an installation of a fairly big program, which I cannot interrupt...

Re: How to block a complete site + Block Site Button suggestion
MWB did a full extensive scan of my system, and found nothing.
Can you suggest another good one to me, for a scan (Although, MWB should be basically enough, I think, but one cannot ever be too sure)?
Thank you.

Re: How to block a complete site + Block Site Button suggestion
I get no popup.
Try:
- disable ABP
- install ublock origin (uBo) - another adblocker (stronger)
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... ck-origin/
test the sites again

Keep only uBo then test again. Still popups using only uBo ?
