Won't install on 1.5.0.4

I tried and failed to install adblock plus from here. The extension appears to download properly, and the extension window says that adblock plus will be installed upon a restart of Firefox. So I restart firefox, and the extension is nowhere to be seen, ads are the same as usual, etc. What gives?

First of all - which operating system?

It is probably a problem with the profile, happens sometimes. Removing the directory extensions/staged-xpis in the Firefox profile might help.

Close Firefox and try to delete "extensions.rdf" and "extensions.cache" in your profile folder.

If this does not help, then you should try a new profile.
