Adblock extension won't install on this latest build, is this because it won't work?

I should register so I can edit, lol.

It won't install because it says it only supports up to Minefield 2.0a

From IceDogg: It does claim to not be compatible but if you force it, it will work just fine. I use this method.
about:config in the url. Then right click New/boolean Name extensions.checkCompatibility ok then select false. Or you can use Nightly testers tools to force it to be compatable.

I realize you may already know how to do this and you're just reporting it, but I put all this info anyway for those that may not know.
From Wladimir Palant The extension is perfectly fine with 2.0 b1 but AMO isn't allowing specifying future releases in maxVersion any more.

I know he says 2.0 b1, but I think it will work for mindfield too. I read the builds threads and see where others are using it. Do the trick in the first post it works very well. I also posted a screenshot of add-ons screen after you set this pref here.

Some extensions are set to work in 3.0 on AMO, I think.

Yea, there was a time they was allowing this. Then recently they stopped, I presume for the release of Firefox 2.0. To force developers to make sure their extensions would work with it and not just up the version. So when some extensions updated they was not allowed to use the higher versions. Where ones that haven't been updated in a while still have the higher version. But I've also heard this is about to be changed yet again..so round and round we go. LOL

That's for sure. I keep hearing they are really going to put some work into it soon. Hopefully it will get a lot better when/if they do. It's still better then it was before, but there is much room for improvement.

I added a pointer to extensions.checkCompatibility on http://adblockplus.org/en/installation

Have they still not changed it so you can make it compatible now??

No, and they don't intend to - extension authors shouldn't not clear compatibility for version they couldn't possibly test in. I should release a minor update to take care of 2.0b1 compatibility later today but for nightlies you will have to change this pref now.
