Problems with installation of Adblock-0.7.1

Post by wWolf »

First of all, why it can't install itself in home profile ? Where sad that moz-suit and seamonkey can't do that ??? I've never heared about it. I'm using it on my home computer, but it's not convenient to ask admin to install browser extension if it computer at work and u re not root (even at home, could be several users on in one system), and what if not all users want that extension ? I think it should be possible to install both variants, globaly or just in home profile.

And the second, I even installed as root but by default it works _only_ for root, so I had to make su -c chmod 444 `find /usr/lib/seamonkey/ -iname '*adblock*'. And only then it became work for common user. it was 400 root:root by default.

I do not know the reason it cannot work as multiuser, but you had to change manually the permissions because there is a bug still open in Mozilla suite and Seamonkey. See this post.

Edited: I found in this forum the post about the problem regarding user profile installation for Adblock Plus. It is also caused by a pending Seamonkey bug, you can look for more information checking this post. You can also check this bug
