Adblock Plus

On the AdBlock Plus site, the "About Me" page, we can read the following:

But basically, the people who make big money off internet advertising are the internet advertising companies. By blocking their ads, you're actually helping to reduce their income, which may reduce the commercialization of the internet.

While on the left side of the page there is a big block of ads. This whole project and mainly its author can't get more hypocritical and false.

(By the way, Google is also an internet advertising company. 99.999% of Google's income is from ads. If people blocked their ads, Google would die. Firefox is also funded by Google. Then there are thousands of great free sites that need ads to survive, because their monthly bandwidth costs millions. Or are you all going to pay for access to Slashdot or SourceForge.net? I bet you are.)

I don't buy anything on Internet, and I don't want my eyes to be disturbed by ads flashs. You cannot force me to see these ads.

For Google ads on MrBene (not mcm) page, it is simply blocked by AB+, that's all.

Actually Mr Bene created that site and set up this forum. My site's are http://mcmblog.sitesled.com/ (kind of outdated) and http://mcmblog.qsh.sk/ (where I still need to figure out how you can upload SQL databases without breaking them any help here is appreciated).

I'm human and could have made a mistake and thought it was spam. I doubt it as I try to be careful about that. And I don't delete post that I just don't like unless they are VERY abusive (Can't think of any so far) or spam. I have RARELY edited a couple because of unnecessary words and abuse but that's it.

Hmm, I'm not sure what happened to MrBene. He was a regular visitor near the start but I seem to remember him getting a new job and moving onto other things and since I was starting to answer most of the forum posts I think he felt he didn't have to worry about here. The last contact I had with him was regarding the spam where he made me and Icedogg administrators to deal with it.

He seems to be alive and he seems to have internet access. His lastest upload was on 30 April 2006.

False. the new mozilla corp has profited by setting some browser defaults. Funding is a whole 'nother pie.
