I know that Element hiding rules cannot be whitelisted I was just wondering why ? Is it too hard to implement from a programing point of view or just not possible for some reason eg: limitation of firefox ?

Yes, implementation is the problem. So far the only approach that might work is very complicated, I still hope to find something simpler.
