gmail problems

Post by danhah »

Hello

I cannot access my email from within gmail. The strange thing is though, I can access one account perfectly but for some reason the other account is getting blocked by adblock. This means that although my account is loaded when I click on the email a popup informs me WARNING a script has stopped loading. If I select basic html from within gmail it works in that mode but if i switch back to standard mode then it stops working again.

The one thing that I have changed recently is that I logged and continued to use https mode so is it possible that this has somehow confused adblock.

I am a bit concerned at the moment in case there is a security issue with this.

Any advice is welcome

Thanks in advance

Can you open ABP's "Open blockable items" list and tell us if there is anything blocked there (it will be in red)?

Also tell us any filter subscriptions that you are using.

Hello

When I first open gmail the ABP is red but it indicated 0 of 54 items blocked. When I select my email the WARNING unresponsive script pops up and I cant do anything until I cancel the script the ADB indicates 1 blocked filter mail.google.com/mail/?*&view=add&

But under a different gmail account on same computer/settings that works perfectly. Strange

I have a feeling that just this morning adblock got updated to 0.7.5.3

filter subscription = Easylist usa last modified 23Nov07
not modified

This sounds like NoScript extension...

PS: Wait, you say "unresponsive script" - that's different of course. That should be Google's own bug.

I do in fact have noscript and fasterfox installed but if I disable both of them and restart firefox the problem remains. If I enable them and disable adblock and then restart firefox the problem is fixed. So that is why I think it is adblock.

Mind you It could be that noscript was updated this morning but I think it was adblock.

Thanks For the advice. More appreciated

Thanks

It seems that NoScript was just updated on the 21st ... that is probably the update you just got. ABP hasn't been updated for a while now.

Then that must just be coincidental, because like i mentioned in the previous message if I remove noscript and fasterfox the problem remains. Only when i remove adblock does the problem go away.

I will try a few things and let you know.

If you are using the EasyList, just update the subscription.
