Adblock update loses bookmarks!

When Adblock updates, my home page changes to the Firefox default and my bookmarks are lost. Luckily FF backs up the bookmarks after each session but it is an annoyance I could do without. Is there a way of fixing this within Adblock/FF?

This is a Firefox bug that occurs on some systems, with or without AdBlock Plus installed. My wife's computer has the same problem after any Firefox upgrade (addon or release), but it has never affected mine.

I'd suggest removing Firefox, deleting your local %appdata%\Mozilla\Firefox folder, and doing a clean reinstall to see if that fixes it. A disk check might also be in order.

Thanks - I think you are right as I now find that the upgrade has also wiped the data in Paste Email 2.1.2 (another add-on)
